Mary’s May Half Term Play Scheme will open on 26th May and run till the 29th May.

Please read through all of the below before you register.  Once we receive your registration, we will check your eligibility and confirm if we can offer you a place.

Mary’s holiday play-scheme will be provided FREE of charge on this occasion funded by Islington Council exclusively for children of critical workers and vulnerable children, who are Islington residents and aged between 6 and 12 years old.

Please read the government’s definition of who is considered as a vulnerable child and the list of critical workers to see if you will be eligible for this provision. You can also call us to check between 9am and 5pm on 0207 7042873.

For the safety of everyone involved, children, parents and staff, we have put in place a range of measures designed to minimise the risk of the spread and infection of COVID-19 virus.

We will need everyone’s support to keep to these measures.

Places in "Bubbles"

The Play Scheme will provide places for up to a maximum of 20 children.  Children will be allocated to one of four small groups or “bubbles” with a dedicated staff member for each.

Every member of the bubble will be colour coded (with wrist bands). Children will have to stay in the same bubble throughout the scheme and not mix with any individuals from a different colour-coded bubble (staff or children).

We will operate a minimum of 4 separate designated areas in Mary’s Community Centre. These will be the  Johnston room, Garden room, Community room and Sports Hall.  Each “bubble” will stay in one of of these four rooms throughout the day unless otherwise instructed.  Each group will have its designated separate toilet, which will be colour coded also.

We will be posting our programme schedule for each room here shortly.  Groups will move to a different room each day in order to have a chance to take part in all of the activities on offer during the scheme. The rooms will be disinfected overnight.

Drop-offs and Pick Ups

In order to minimise person to person spreading of the COVID-19 virus, we will ask parents to drop off and pick up their children at the main entrance to the Centre and not come into the building at all. We ask parents to form a socially distanced orderly queue outside the entrance to the Community Centre.
