Mary's provides children, youth and community services to local residents out of Mary'sCommunity Centre and our childcare services are a key part of our growing work.
Mary's holiday childcare service is open 9 weeks of the school holidays catering for 6 - 12-year-old children from 8.30 to 5 pm.

This summer holiday time position is for 40hrs hours a week for 4 weeks. Possibility of becoming a bank staff member for other childcare positions within the organisation and for further playscheme programs

Job Title: Early Years Practitioner

Contract:  12 months fixed term (with the possibility of the role becoming permanent)

Hours:     18.5 hrs per week, Term time only

Pay: £11.05 per hr

Responsible to:  Childcare Services Manager

Job Purpose

The purpose of this position is to work as a qualified child care practitioner and key person delivering childcare and education as part of Mary’s childcare team in our early years' settings under the guidance and management of the service manager.  

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide a  stimulating and happy environment where children can grow and learn 
  • To actively encourage children’s learning and progress in all areas of development by interaction and extension of play activities
  • To work in partnership with the parents
  • To know and adhere to the pre-school's operational and safety policies and procedures
  • To assist the manager with the short, medium and long-term planning of the EYFS curriculum 
  • To carry out and record children’s observations in accordance with the requirements of the EYFS framework and as instructed by the service manager 
  • To participate in continuous professional development and training as required 
  • To ensure that any information received concerning the children is kept confidential 
  • To assist with the daily setting up and clearing away of all activities and equipment
  • To attend staff meetings. Undertake training and other events throughout the year.
