Following the latest government announcement on 23rd June about the further easing of lockdown we are preparing to run Mary's Summer Play Scheme for 4 weeks.  The scheme will run from Wed 22nd July to Tue 18th Aug.

We are awaiting further guidance from the government about the social distancing and safety measures but we expect these to be similar to the ones we implemented for the May scheme for critical worker families (children and staff allocated to separate and isolated "bubbles" within our buildings with designated toilet facilities for each).  Further information and the programme will be available following receipt of the government guidance.

Due to the expected social distancing measures, the overall number of places will be limited and we will continue to prioritise children of critical workers. We expect to be able to cater to 20 children per day.

Bookings will open as soon as information about the guidance is available and our plans are drawn up in compliance with them.

If you would like us to e-mail you when we open the bookings, please complete our SERVY to indicate your interest in the scheme.

Places will cost £24/day. We will not be able to offer sibling discounts on this occasion.

The words ‘school holidays’ can fill many parents with dread – especially if they are working. But these are times that children should look forward to as a period when they can draw breath and take a break from the often very competitive academic life they face at school and ‘just’ play.

Play is not merely an entertaining way of passing the time; it has an important role to play in the physical and cognitive development of children, as well as contributing to their social skills.  It requires planning and effort.

Mary’s Play Schemes provide children with an action-packed, stimulating and enjoyable time during school holidays and provide parents with peace of mind.

To achieve this, our Play Schemes programmes have been developed to:

  • Provide a safe environment for children aged 6 to 12 over the half terms, Easter and summer holidays
  • Encourage each child’s curiosity and creativity in a stimulating environment
  • Offer a mix of activities and outings that are educational as well as fun
  • Provide an opportunity for children to make friends

Parents know that their child is safe with us and that they can depend on us during the holidays.

Mary’s Play Scheme was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted at its last inspection in November 2017.
