In May Half Term came the much anticipated and long spoken about trip to Manchester.Â
Thanks to funding from YHA, without which we wouldn’t have been able to go, we had a three-day trip up north to stay in one of their hostels. This was relative luxury compared to some campsites we’ve been to!Â
Â
Jake and Jordan took eight young people, and it was a first time for everyone.Â

Our three-day itinerary saw us head to the Science & Industry and Manchester Museums, MediaCity, The Trafford Centre, and for walks alongside canals and through the famous Canal Street.Â
We were also lucky to be able to connect to local youth clubs and services, too. We visited Manchester Youth Zone and their impressive building (complete with a climbing wall, boxing gym, football pitch, and a DIY studio with everything you can image!) We’re so grateful for them letting us into their space and showing us the incredible work they do.Â
In MediaCity, YouthLeads spoke to us about their young people-lead magazine and gave us an exciting tour of the companies that work and film from there (including Coronation Street!)Â
