About youth club

we have an amazing programme here at the youth club

We are open 50 weeks a year

We have a term time offer

And run holiday programmes in Spring, Summer, Winter and every half term.

As an open-access youth club, we welcome young people from all walks of life

Members are aged 10-19 and whilst we are based in Islington, you don’t have to live in the borough to take part.

Members can stay for the whole evening or just drop in for a single activity—it’s up to them! We always encourage young people to make the most of the opportunities we offer, whether that’s trying something new or just having a safe space to relax and be themselves.

To make sure activities are the best fit for everyone, we sometimes group sessions by age or other categories based on members’ needs. This helps create the right environment for young people to feel comfortable, learn, and have fun

Signing up as a member is free.

All onsite term time activities are free of charge to attend.

We keep offsite activities free, or low cost, during term time.

Holiday Programmes are a mix of free activities and activities with a charge. The charge is never more then 25% of the total cost.

Spring, Summer and Winter holidays are supported by Haf Programme

Why do we charge for some activities?

This helps us pay for travel, food and accommodation.

There should never be a financial barrier to participation so if cost is ever an issue please talk to the team who will work with you to find a solution.

Mary’s Youth Club is an independent charity, at the heart of the community.

We believe every young person should have the chance to share, learn, grow and have fun.

While we are based at St. Mary’s Neighbourhood Centre, we’re a secular organisation.

Nothing is more important to use than the safety and wellbeing of our members
All staff are trained in First Aid, Safeguarding and Data Protection and undergo a criminal record check. Our activities are risk assessed and we have clear behaviour expectations

Our programmes have been externally assessed to the higest quality. In fact, from 2022, Mary’s has been leadning the development of youth work via QLIP www.qlip.org.uk

For more information on the programme, or just for a chat, contact Lead youth worker Jordan on 07816 073 016

how are we funded?

You might be wondering how we pay for all of this?

We’re funded in a few different ways: we receive grants, work with corporate partners, and run fundraising events.

Individual donations also play a big part in helping us keep our work going.

Plus, we train other youth workers through our CPD (Continuing Professional Development) offers and receive contributions from our members, as mentioned in the cost section above. All of this helps us continue providing a great youth service.
